Betty's Room |

Tucked in the back of the house on
the second floor, this cozy room was originally the
maid’s quarters. You can still see the opening in
the wall which allowed the maidservant to hear the
cries from the nursery across the hall. We’ve named
the room for Carol’s mother Betty, who worked as
hard as any maid but who only answered to herself. |

With rich red walls as backdrop, Betty’s Room
features a queen-size brass bed, reading table, and
an antique dresser with a period lacquer vanity
set. A comfortable loveseat draped with an Amish
quilt provides a perfect place to curl up with a
good book. |

Next door is an adjoining private
bath with a four-foot walk-in shower, a beautifully
restored colored glass window, and of course, plush
terry robes. |
